In a previous post we had notated that the IRS had not yet extended to the tax filing deadline. They had only extended the date for any balances due. Today, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced ow the IRS is extending the federal income tax filing deadline to July 15 as part of a growing effort to stem the financial pain from the coronmavirus pandemic.
This will give all taxpayers and businesses the extra time to file and make payments without worrying bout penalties or interest. They are still recommending all individuals who normally get a refund to go ahead and file so you can get your money now.
